Finding good books to read aloud to 2nd graders is honestly among my favorite parts of the college year because seven and eight-year-olds are in that magical age group where they may finally follow more time plots but nevertheless love a foolish picture book. They're standing right on the particular edge of becoming "independent readers, " but there is usually something so special about that shared experience of the story.
